Committed to the Environment

At Yerecic Label, success goes hand-in-hand with environmental responsibility. As a team, we have been able to achieve remarkable accomplishments in sustainability, and continue to learn new ways to reduce our environmental footprint. This means auditing the materials and methods we use to make our products, finding sustainable solutions for the life cycle of our products and evaluating the resource usage in our facility.

Take a look below to learn about steps we’ve taken to reduce our environmental footprint:

Industry Collaboration

The Association of Plastic Recycling (APR)

The Association of Plastic Recycling (APR) is an international trade association representing the plastics recycling industry. Yerecic Label became an APR member in 2015 and currently sits on the APR Communications & Public Affairs Committee for a 3 year term.

The U.S. Plastics Pact (USPP)

The U.S. Plastics Pact was launched as part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s global Plastics Pact network with the goal of influencing diverse stakeholders across the plastics value chain to rethink the way we design, use and reuse plastics. Yerecic Label became an Activator of the U.S. Plastics Pact in 2022 as the first label converter. Yerecic Label is also an active member of the Design for Recyclability workstream and sits on the 2023 Advisory Council.

Yerecic Label’s PCR Commitment Statement

As a leader in pressure sensitive labeling Design for Recycling compatibility and education, Yerecic Label commits to continuous improvement surrounding PS label design compatibility to relevant recycling streams to produce greater quality and yield of post-consumer recycled content for food grade packaging.

Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) Certification

Yerecic Label was previously certified by the TLMI’s Label Initiative for the Environment (L.I.F.E) since 2009. In 2018, TLMI joined forces with the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership to further commit to the industry’s sustainability values. Yerecic Label is actively pursuing certification through the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership, more details are available below:

The role of the sustainability committee: The role of the sustainability committee within Yerecic Label is to promote and implement environmentally and socially responsible practices to minimize the company’s environmental impact, ensure sustainable sourcing of materials, and support ethical and responsible business operations.

The role of the SGP Impact Tracker: The SGP Impact Tracker helps printers manage their sustainability certifications, track progress, and improve efficiency. Certified facilities can benchmark their sustainability efforts, use sustainability statistics in marketing to attract eco-conscious customers, and access all sustainability data in one place for easier recertification and potential benefits.

Continuous Improvement Project: Yerecic Label’s 2023 Continuous Improvement Project focuses on increasing the yield of food grade recycled PET through its SustainLabel!® MPG label construction. This construction meets strict APR testing standards, ensuring that the labels do not detrimentally impact recycling efforts and instead allow a greater yield of PET to be recycled, contributing to a circular economy and promoting sustainable packaging alternatives.
